The Inside Out Project in London
French artist JR was recently in London with the Inside Out photobooth located at Somerset House.
Over 1,700 portraits have been taken early this October.
Portraits were being pasted every day outside the Somerset House, Another installation can also be spotted in Old Bailey, London.
The photobooth truck enables the public to participate instantly and for free. You just enter the Photobooth, and their camera snaps your portrait within a minute. Then a black and white poster is printed and you take it to paste it on the street.
'Inspired by JR’s large‐format street "pastings", Inside Out gives everyone the opportunity to share their portrait and make a statement for what they stand for. It is a global platform for people to share their untold stories and transform messages of personal identity into works of public art.
